Frequently asked questions
What is Abdruck-Digital?
Abdruck-Digital is a specialised software platform for funeral homes for the secure capture, review and handover of fingerprint images. Partner workshops then use these prints to craft memorial jewellery such as rings, pendants, cufflinks and more.
Who is the platform intended for?
The platform is designed for funeral homes, funeral directors and workshops in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Funeral directors capture prints directly on site, while workshops receive approved order data without any media discontinuity.
Is Abdruck-Digital GDPR-compliant?
Yes. The platform has been developed to GDPR standards: data is processed exclusively in European data centres, fully encrypted in transit (TLS 1.3) and at rest (AES-256), tenants are separated at database level, all access is logged, and a data processing agreement (DPA) is available for every funeral home.
What hardware is required?
No special hardware is required. A modern smartphone or tablet with a camera is sufficient for capture. The mobile app optimises the print image automatically and guides you step by step through the process. Alternatively, material from existing scanners can be uploaded.
How is the quality of the fingerprints ensured?
Before being sent to the workshop, every print passes through a multi-stage quality review - automated and via an approval workflow. Only flawless prints are passed on. This ensures that families enjoy their memorial jewellery for years to come.
Who are the partner workshops?
We currently work with pur solutions GmbH (Nano-Erinnerungsschmuck) and ProCasting (Netherlands) as pilot partners. The workshop is selected with a single click directly within the order.
What does using Abdruck-Digital cost?
Funeral homes can register free of charge and try the platform. Billing is usage-based per approved order - with no setup fees and no minimum term. Details are available on request via the registration form.
How long is data retained?
Personal data of the deceased and fingerprint images are stored only for the duration of order processing and for statutory retention periods. Once an order is completed, funeral homes can have the associated data deleted at any time. Please see our privacy policy for details.
Does the platform offer an interface (API) to funeral director software?
An open REST API is on the roadmap. Initial integrations with common funeral director management systems are already under way. Interested software vendors are welcome to register for a joint pilot project.
Where is the data hosted?
All data is hosted exclusively in European data centres certified to ISO 27001. No data is transferred to third countries outside the EU.
